Clysms (therapeutic enemas) are one of the five classical Ayurvedic purgative therapies. These have a very great importance in balancing the Vata dosha.

Takradhara is similar to Shirodhara (forehead oil pouring), but instead of oil, medicated takra (buttermilk) is used.
