Pilot study for the "Happy Slim" webinar

Dr. Wolfgang Schachinger has created a series of three webinars that enable an Ayurvedic cleansing cure under medical supervision at home. The webinar "Herbal Detox" is intended as a spring cleanse, and always takes place at the beginning of Lent. The webinar "Winterfit" aims to strengthen well-being, nervous strength and immunity and prepares participants for the dark, cold season in late autumn.

For the "Happy Slim" webinar, which is held each May, Dr. Wolfgang Schachinger wrote a pilot study together with Prof. Dr. Goswami, head of the Institute of Physiology at MedUni Graz. The results of this study also provide strong indications for the effect of the other webinars.

What was studied?

In the "Happy Slim" webinar, participants learn methods from Ayurveda, behavioural therapy and yoga with the aim of cleansing the body and achieving their ideal weight. From the perspective of modern medicine, the inflammation parameters blood sedimentation and CRP as well as blood lipids, liver values and body weight are important indicators of health and youthfulness. If these values are elevated, this indicates an increased susceptibility to disease and premature mortality from cardiovascular diseases. The liver values measured give an indication of how well the body can rid itself of environmental toxins and metabolic waste products.

Procedure of the study

Before the start and at the end of the webinar, the participants had their blood taken, and their weight and blood pressure values were also determined. All measured values showed positive changes towards better health at the end of the cure. Particularly significant were the weight reduction, the liver values and the improvement of the lipid profile, which expresses the relationship of the various blood fat values to each other. The significant increase in "good HDL cholesterol" by 13.9 % is a particularly striking indicator of good health and reduction of cardiovascular risk. The participating subjects were particularly happy about the average weight reduction of almost 4 kg in 3.5 weeks.

Summary

"The excellent and significant results of this pilot study warrant further investigation of the results at Dr Schachinger's next webinars and the publication of a large study in a renowned scientific journal," says Prof. Dr Goswami.
