Your Pancha Karma cleanse

Traditional and individual therapy

Ayurveda cleanse in Austria

Special features in Home of Ayurveda somamed

A traditional Pancha Karma cleanse consists of 5 forms of treatment and is an extremely effective method of subjecting body, mind and soul to a deep and lasting detoxification and regeneration.

Pancha Karma in somamed

Our Pancha Karma cures are individually tailored to you by our Ayurveda and spa physician Dr. Wolfgang Schachinger. The healing effects of the individual therapies build on each other logically and complement each other. The individual treatment steps systematically remove toxins and harmful substances (such as heavy metals or acids) stored in the body. Read more about Pancha Karma here.

Individual Ayurvedic treatments

Every Ayurvedic treatment starts with an Ayurvedic pulse diagnosis and a detailed consultation to determine your constitution. This can be carried out in person or by (video) telephone. The treatments of a Pancha Karma cure can be adapted to you based on your constitutional type and the existing clinical picture.
We offer around 25 different treatments in our clinic. The right treatments for your individual Ayurveda cure are put together for you personally. This means that every cure in our somamed house is unique.

We look forward to your visit, which has only one goal: to improve your physical, mental and emotional health and performance to the best of our knowledge.

Cure procedure

When you come to the Home of Ayurveda somamed for the first time, we will start by taking your personal details. We will also ask you to complete a short medical history form so that we can get an initial overview of your health, lifestyle habits and previous complaints.

Every Ayurveda treatment at somamed is unique, individually tailored to your needs. That is why we then have a detailed discussion in which we work out your concerns, wishes, complaints, medical history and personal health goals together.

Based on this consultation and the pulse diagnosis, a central method of Ayurvedic medicine, we work with you to create customized therapy suggestions. These may include

  • Ayurvedic treatments and cleansing procedures
  • Individual recommendations on diet and lifestyle
  • Exercise and yoga, tailored to your Dosha type
  • Phytotherapy (customized herbal preparations)
  • Orthomolecular medicine to supplement vital substances in a targeted manner
  • If necessary, conventional medical measures if additional clarifications are required

After the initial consultation, we recommend a blood test in most cases. This includes a standard laboratory test, as is also carried out during a preventive check-up, as well as – depending on the individual symptoms – the determination of specific vital substances by means of whole blood analysis and the analysis of certain hormones. This gives us a comprehensive picture of your health, on the basis of which we can precisely plan your Ayurveda treatment.

Pre-cure – main cure – post-cure

Booking inquiries somamed cures

Pre-cure – The preparation

The pre-cure serves to gently prepare the body for the main cure. The aim is to relieve the metabolism and digestion and mobilize waste products (ama).

  • Light Ayurvedic diet (vegetarian, fresh, easily digestible)
  • warm drinks, spiced teas and ghee for internal preparation
  • First relief days with light food (e.g. kitchari, soups)
  • Simple routines such as oil pulling, meditation, gentle exercise

After the pre-cure, the body is ready to undergo deeper cleansing and regeneration in the main cure.

Main cure – Intensive cleansing (Pancha karma)

The main cure is the core of Maharishi Ayurveda. It includes the classic methods of Pancha Karma, which are individually tailored to the Dosha type.

Typical components of your Pancha Karma cure at our hotel:

  • Oil massages (Abhyanga): deeply relaxing and Dosha-balancing
  • Oil infusions & heat treatments: release deep-seated toxins from tissues
  • Gentle elimination methods: Cleansing via the digestive tract and skin
  • Individual herbal preparations: to support digestion, liver and metabolism
  • Meditation & yoga: for mental regeneration and stress reduction

The result after and during the main cure: the body is freed from metabolic residues, the cells regenerate, the mind and nervous system find deep peace.

Regular detox Pancha Karma

Post-cure – stabilization

The intensive cleansing is followed by a follow-up treatment to stabilize the effects achieved in the long term. Of course, we also accompany you during the post-cure at home. Here are some of the things you can do during the post-cure:

  • Building a healthy daily routine (Dinacharya)
  • Recommendations for individual nutrition according to dosha
  • Regular meditation and light yoga exercises – if you wish
  • Taking herbal preparations to strengthen digestion, the immune system and inner balance
  • Integration of small rituals (e.g. morning routine, drinking hot water) into everyday life

Result: The post-cure anchors the new balance sustainably and strengthens the self-healing powers.

Transcendental meditation

A journey to deep peace and inner fulfillment

Transcendental Meditation:
Simple. Of course. Deeply effective.

Transcendental Meditation (TM) is a simple, natural and easy-to-learn technique that is suitable for people of all ages. It is practiced twice a day for 15 to 20 minutes at a time, sitting comfortably with eyes closed. The mind is guided into a state of deep calm and stillness, while the body relaxes at a very deep level.

This millennia-old technique makes it possible to experience transcendental consciousness – the state of the slightest stimulation of the mind – on a regular basis. This area is often described as the source of our thoughts, a reservoir of creativity, energy and inner peace.

Scientifically proven

The effect of TM has been comprehensively documented in more than 700 scientific studies. It shows measurable improvements in mental and physical health, such as reducing stress, lowering blood pressure and promoting quality of life. On a collective level, TM can help to reduce social tensions and promote peace.

A path to a more peaceful world

TM is not only a tool for personal growth, but also an effective method for building a sustainable, peaceful world. By reducing individual and collective tensions, TM can contribute to a more harmonious and problem-free society.

Experience how Transcendental Meditation brings new energy and inner peace into your life.

Ayurveda’s traditional recommendations for ahara (diet) and vihara (lifestyle) can be easily adapted to the respective cultural and
climatic conditions. Although Ayurveda originated in India, it is universally applicable.

In our practice, we understand and practice Ayurveda as a medicine that understands consciousness as the basis of life. This view

Thermal healing water in somamed

Water from the Dreikönigsquelle Haag

Heat applications in Ayurveda – Why heat is so beneficial

In Ayurveda, heat is considered one of the most important therapeutic qualities to bring the body into balance – especially when cold, sluggishness or tension prevail. Heat promotes the flow of prana (life energy), relaxes muscles, opens the body channels(srotas) and supports detoxification.

Targeted heat applications – such as warm oil massages, steam baths or medicinal water baths – stimulate blood circulation, activate the metabolism and calm the nervous system. For many people, this means less pain, more mobility and a deep sense of well-being. Our thermal water, which has stored warmth and tranquillity for thousands of years at a depth of 2000m, is a special highlight of deep relaxation for most Pancha Karma guests.

Thermal healing water in Ayurveda

Thermal water is mineral-rich water that comes from deep layers of the earth and is naturally heated. Depending on its origin, it contains different minerals such as sulphur, magnesium, calcium or sodium, which can be absorbed through the skin.

Why thermal water baths are so good for you:

  • Muscle & joint relaxation: Heat relieves tension, loosens the tissue and can alleviate pain.
  • Promotes blood circulation: the blood vessels dilate, allowing oxygen and nutrients to reach the cells better.
  • Detoxification via the skin: the heat opens the pores, making it easier to eliminate waste products.
  • Mineral absorption: Trace elements in water support the skin, connective tissue and metabolism.
  • Stress relief: Warm water acts like a gentle embrace for the nervous system – cortisol levels drop and relaxation sets in.

In Ayurvedic terms, thermal baths have a primarily Vata- and Kapha-balancing effect:

  • Vata (dry, cold, mobile) is calmed by warmth, inner peace returns.
  • Kapha (heavy, sluggish, cool) is activated by heat, metabolism and energy flow are stimulated.

Pitta types also benefit – especially with muscle tension – but should avoid water that is too hot so as not to fan the inner fire too much.

Stages of Ayurvedic cleansing therapy

The following sequence is traditionally followed in Ayurvedic cleansing therapy:

Snehana (internal and external unction), Svedana (overheating), Shodana (purgation).

After oiling, heat is either applied to the whole body or only to a specific part of the body. The oils used in the incredibly soothing and organizing Ayurvedic massages loosen hardened and tense tissues. They dissolve toxins that have been deposited for years and other harmful substances that can lead to illness and premature ageing.

Effect of heat therapy

These dissolved waste products can best be removed from the affected tissues via the blood and lymph. The application of heat dilates the blood and lymph vessels so that this removal can take place without blockages.

Many of these contaminated sites are acidic and cause an over-acidification of our body’s environment. This acidification hinders normal metabolic processes.

Thermal water with a “buffer effect”

According to balneochemical tests, the thermal water in Home of Ayurveda somamed is a sodium hydrogen carbonate-chloride mineral thermal water. This composition gives our healing water a deacidifying effect. The sodium bicarbonate it contains has a so-called “buffering effect”, neutralizing acids.

After the Ayurvedic synchronized oil massage, which removes the acidic metabolic waste products from the tissues, our patients are given a bath with our thermal water. This results in the required overheating. In addition, the minerals naturally present in the thermal water are absorbed through the skin and can render the acidic metabolic waste products harmless.

Scientifically recognized effects of our healing water

Bathing cures with mineral thermal waters can be carried out for the following illnesses:

  • Chronic inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system;
  • Post-traumatic damage to the musculoskeletal system;
  • Paralysis of various origins;
  • Neurovegetative regulatory disorders;
  • Functional cardiovascular diseases;
  • Neuralgia;
  • Age-related complaints;

Visionary decision

In 2003, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the founder of Maharishi Ayurveda, initiated the purchase of the property in Geboltskirchen, Austria for Home of Ayurveda somamed – Center for Maharishi Ayurveda and Holistic Medicine. The property of Home of Ayurveda somamed not only meets the requirements of Vedic architecture (Sthapatya Veda), it also has land registry secured access to the thermal water of the Hague Three Kings Spring.

Maharishi’s aim at the time was to combine the well-known effects of thermal water with the traditional effects of Ayurvedic medicine to create an even more effective whole.

The thermal water was examined by the balneological department of the Federal Institute for Chemical and Pharmaceutical Research in Vienna as part of a “major medicinal water analysis”. The water from the Drei-Königs-Quelle Haag fulfills the requirements for the declaration of spring water as medicinal water.

Maharishi Ayurveda

Holistic health for body, mind and soul

What is Maharishi Ayurveda?

Maharishi Ayurveda is a modern form of Ayurveda, the traditional Indian art of healing. Developed in the 1980s by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi – the founder of Transcendental Meditation (TM) – it combines the ancient principles of Ayurveda with the demands of modern life.

The aim of Maharishi Ayurveda is to harmonize body, mind and consciousness, prevent illness and activate the body’s self-healing powers.

Differences to classical Ayurveda

While classical Ayurveda has been practiced in India for over 3000 years and includes nutrition, doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), medicinal herbs and routines, Maharishi Ayurveda focuses on additional aspects:

  • Integration of Transcendental Meditation for stress reduction and inner peace
  • Standardized herbal preparations that are internationally available and scientifically tested
  • Focus on prevention instead of treatment – maintaining health before illness develops
  • Greater emphasis on the connection between body, mind and consciousness

Advantages of Maharishi Ayurveda

✔️ Strengthening self-healing powers
✔️ More energy, vitality and inner balance
✔️ Stress reduction and deep relaxation through meditation
✔️ Holistic health for body, mind and soul
✔️ Routines suitable for everyday use for a better quality of life

5 Maharishi Ayurveda routines for more balance

  1. Daily meditation: Transcendental meditation for inner stability and stress reduction.
  2. Morning ritual: oil pulling, drinking warm water, gentle exercise for a clear start.
  3. Ayurvedic diet: Fresh, seasonal, easily digestible food – adapted to the Dosha type.
  4. Herbal preparations: Traditional, high-quality formulations to support digestion, energy and sleep.
  5. Living to the rhythm of nature: routines in harmony with the times of day and seasons.

Pancha Karma

Tiefgreifende Reinigungskur zur Entgiftung, Regeneration und Wiederherstellung des inneren Gleichgewichts.

Transzendentale Meditation

Innere Stabilität und Stressreduktion. Der Geist erfährt absolute Stille.

Meaning of soma

Why Home of Ayurveda?

What does somamed mean?

“Making the unfinished perfect, giving refreshment to man,
Let the rains of heaven pour down, oh soma!”

RIK VEDA IX.39.2

soma is a term from Vedic literature. It describes the natural law that raises individual intelligence to the level of highest holistic development.

As a celestial body, the moon represents the cooling and nourishing properties of soma.

As a mystical medicinal plant in the Himalayas, soma has a medicinal connection.

For the fighter, soma revitalizes the fallen courage, for the human being it brings strength to live, it affects the inner being by enlightening and widening the inner eye of the seer who is searching for truth.

The effects of soma are physically strengthening, heart revitalizing and mind clearing.

We see ourselves as a medical facility. With “Home of Ayurveda somamed” , we offer a unique combination of ancient Ayurveda, traditional healing water treatments from the local thermal spring and scientifically based modern medicine. With somamed , we want to make the best health possible for everyone. Our focus is on diagnostic medicine and the preservation of people in their complete individuality.

Therefore somamed

Why Home of Ayurveda?

Dr. Wolfgang Schachinger. Ayurveda is at home with him

More than 40 years ago, Dr. Wolfgang Schachinger was one of the first European doctors to bring Ayurveda from India to Europe. He examined and reinterpreted the ancient Vedic texts with a modern medical background. He did pioneering work and made Ayurveda recognized. The best Ayurveda doctors and therapists learned from him and he is still passing on his knowledge today. But in his heart he is always with his patients. And they come back again, and again.

Dr. Wolfgang Schachinger, Ayurveda pioneer in Europe.

Ayurvedic products from the pioneer

There are many capsules and food supplements. But only very few of them are highly effective. Dr. Wolfgang Schachinger’s products contain his broad knowledge of conventional medicine and his many years of experience in Ayurveda. Only the highest quality Indian herbs and spices are used. Vital substances are added to selected preparations to optimize their effectiveness. The result is unique products that combine the knowledge of Ayurveda with the latest scientific findings.

somamed – here you feel at home

Arrive. Breathe deeply. Be safe. Be pampered. Whether guests, patients or employees. Everyone has their place here. Everyone’s individuality is seen and accepted. The diversity fills the house with life. Like one big family. Ayurveda originated in Europe with Dr. Wolfgang Schachinger. Now he has fulfilled his dream and – together with his family – has given Ayurveda a home where everyone is welcome. True to the principle: health for all – made easy.

Authentic cures – Ayurveda as it should be

Not wellness. Not just treatment. But: Authentic. Pure. Real. Experience Ayurveda in its pure, genuine form. Ayurveda as a philosophy of life that is lived here through and through. And it is original. The way massages, oil treatments and therapies are carried out. The way they cook. Even the architecture, meditation and yoga. Everything follows the Vedic texts. Just as the great Indian gurus used them thousands of years ago. Only reinterpreted and combined with new ideas.

so gentle, so quiet, somamed.

Healthy living and working with Maharishi Sthapatya Veda

Vedic Building Biology:
Vastu-Vidya

When rooms speak: The emotional impact of architecture

Have you ever had the experience of entering a building and feeling at ease or becoming calm inside? This could be the home of a family friend, a sacred building such as a church or a temple, a simple house or even a palatial building such as a castle.

What makes a building have an effect on us? Is it the materials, the colors, the shapes, the orientation or the room layout? We are often unable to judge.

The old art of building

While modern building biology assumes that the materials are mainly responsible for the indoor climate of a house, the ancient Vedic architecture “vastu vidya” or “Sthapatya Veda” says that of all the factors mentioned above, structural elements such as proportions and room layout play a major role. Vedic architecture has systematically studied all these influences and combined them to form a whole. Unfortunately, only a few principles of this ancient science are in use today.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (1917-2008) meticulously revived various branches of Vedic knowledge and made them accessible to our modern society. These include Transcendental Meditation as well as Maharishi Ayurveda and Maharishi Sthapatya Veda.

Maharishi Sthapatya Veda

About 20 years ago, Maharishi said: “If your house does not conform to the laws of Vedic architecture, then leave it as quickly as if it were on fire!” That sounds very drastic. The buildings in which we work and live have a strong influence on our health and on our economic and social well-being.

Maharishi Sthapatya Veda is primarily involved in the construction of new buildings for families, companies and institutions. This begins with the selection of a suitable plot of land, continues with the planning of a building that contains unique structural elements and ends with the implementation, in which only biologically compatible building materials are used.

Residents of such houses are enthusiastic about the comprehensive effect of these outer shells. “Since I have been living in my Maharishi Vastu house, every day feels like a Sunday,” says Mr. Andrej M. “I am much more relaxed and my sleep and meditation are much deeper. Before, I always felt a lot of pressure, now many things happen automatically. Our children are now much stronger and more self-confident, they get more recognition at school. One son had asthma and is now healthy. All these things are going very positively as long as I keep to the laws of life. I notice very quickly when I deviate from this – I suddenly lack the support from nature that I now experience all the time.”

Creation of a Maharishi Vastu building

Anyone planning to build a new house should seek advice from experts in Maharishi Sthapatya Veda when looking for a plot of land. This is because the shape, location and surroundings of the plot of land are decisive in determining whether it is suitable for Maharishi Vastu. After the plot has been chosen, the client, local architect and Maharishi Sthapatya Veda expert work out the space program and other requirements of the building. Based on this information, the local architect first draws up sketches, which are then refined and adapted to the many requirements of Vedic architecture in collaboration with the Vedic architects. The style of the house can and should be adapted to the local architectural tradition.

Important criteria for Maharishi Vedic architecture

Some requirements are essential: the building must be aligned with the cardinal points, have an east or north entrance and the rooms should be grouped around the center of the house, the so-called Brahmasthan. Symmetry and order are important design elements.

High-quality building biology

Our entire building is constructed to a high building biology standard. We have used only natural building materials without toxic additives and shielded all sources (EMS). Wherever possible, the building materials used were sourced regionally (the wood, for example, comes from Dr. Schachinger’s forest).

The room furnishings come from the company Team7 – Natürlich wohnen, which also produces from local woods in Upper Austria. Our beds are made without metal.

In addition to the use of organic building materials, the entire house and all rooms are structured according to the rules of Vedic architecture (Vastu – Maharishi Stapatyaveda). This creates a high energetic value of the living experience.

Eating in balance – the wisdom of Ayurvedic nutrition

Pleasure & health in harmony with the seasons

At lunchtime, our Home of Ayurveda somamed smells of soothing spices, fresh herbs and lovingly prepared dishes. Our lunch kitchen is not just a culinary meeting place – it is an expression of our philosophy of holistic, seasonal and individual nutrition tailored to the needs of people and nature.

Fresh seasonal cuisine – tailored to the Ayurvedic Dosha types

In spring, when kapha dosha dominates, light, stimulating foods help to relieve and detoxify the body. Here, bitter vegetables, fresh herbs and invigorating spices play an important role in restoring energy and lightness.

Summer, on the other hand, brings the pitta dosha to the fore – with heat and intense activity. Cooling, mild dishes with fresh herbs, lots of vegetables and fine aromas ensure that the body remains in balance and does not overheat.

In winter, when the vata dosha is intensified by cold, dryness and wind, we focus on warming, nourishing dishes prepared with soothing spices such as ginger, cinnamon or cumin. Raw food is reduced to relieve digestion and promote inner warmth.

Regional. Organic. Prepared with love

We only put the best on your plate – with maximum care and sustainability. We use:

  • Fresh herbs, vegetables and fruit from your own somamed garden
  • Organic vegetables from Biohof Achleitner (Eferding)
  • Organic basmati rice and the finest organic spices from our in-house Ayurveda store
  • Other organic foods from Biogast (Austrian organic wholesalers)
  • And of course our particularly valuable organic ghee, which we lovingly make ourselves from Austrian organic sour cream butter.

Every ingredient is carefully selected, carefully processed and prepared with dedication – so that our guests not only go home full, but truly nourished.

Healthy lunch for everyone

Our lunch kitchen is open from Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 14:00. In addition to our spa guests, external guests are also welcome to dine with us. Every day, our chef conjures up vegetarian, balanced and deliciously wholesome menus that nourish the body, senses and soul in equal measure.

From healthy to truly nourishing: discover the full potential of your diet

“I’m eating much healthier now! I’ve reduced my meat consumption and eat fruit every day!” This is the typical statement of someone who realizes that something is wrong with their diet and takes action. However, whether our food is healthy or not does not only depend on the type of food we eat. The quality of the food is very important. But food can only develop its full effect in the body if it is used in conjunction with many other criteria.

We want to keep these criteria in mind. In order to become clear to ourselves about the criteria by which we should judge food, its preparation and use, we can ask 7 questions, the honest answers to which will quickly bring us closer to the ideal diet.

  1. Who eats?

Constitution type, age, current constitution and balance or imbalance of the doshas is the first important criterion. In simple terms, it can be said that the dosha state of the person eating is decisive in determining which foods and which preparation is appropriate. “The blacksmith’s food tears the tailor apart”, says an old proverb. What is healthy and nutritious for one person may be too heavy and indigestible for another. In classical Ayurveda, there are many “lists” with long enumerations of foods that are suitable for Vata, Pitta or Kapha. Even if you can memorize these lists, they only give an indication of the right foods. To be able to choose the right list, you need information about which of the three doshas is dominant.

You can find more information about your current dominant dosha in the dosha test. The doshas also change with the time of day, the seasons and age. In addition to the composition of the doshas, the state of the digestive fire Agni is also decisive. If the digestive fire is weak or irregular, the diet must become lighter accordingly. If the digestive fire is overheated, you should avoid strongly warming and hot foods and spices.

  2. What is eaten?

The type of food, its preparation and also its origin are the second most important criteria for nutrition after the characteristics of the person eating it. Preparation should be gentle and food should always be used as fresh as possible. From an Ayurvedic point of view, it should go without saying that only or at least predominantly food from regional sources and organic farming should be used. The properties and flavors of the food should be matched to the prevailing dosha of the person eating it. In general, one can say

Good for Vata dominance is food with the qualities heavy, oily and warm; and the flavors sweet, sour and salty. Important components of a Vata-balancing diet are grains, fruits and healthy oils.

With Pitta dominance, you should prefer the sweet, bitter and tart flavors and the cool, oily and heavy qualities. To achieve a cooling effect with Pitta dominance, the use of cooling spices such as coriander, cardamom, sage and other bitter herbs is particularly beneficial.

For Kapha dominance, you should prefer foods with the flavors pungent, bitter and tart and the qualities light, dry and warm. All alkaline vegetables are important components of a Kapha-balancing diet.

  3. How do we eat?

Even the healthiest food cannot be digested properly if the eating behavior is inappropriate. Digestion begins in the mouth, which is why chewing well, eating slowly and being mindful when eating are crucial for the effect of food on the body. All of this can only succeed if we eat in peace and in a seated position. A grateful posture in preparation for eating gives the mind and body the right starting position to absorb the food well. Such an attitude can be achieved, for example, by praying silently at the table. Eating in a stressed or agitated mood is not ideal. It is also noticeable that the feeling of hunger diminishes under strong emotional stress. Practicing correct eating habits is of the utmost importance for your health!

  4. When should you eat?

The digestive system works best when you maintain a natural eating rhythm. The law of rest and activity is very important here. The breaks between meals are essential for the food to be broken down properly in the digestive tract. Only the finest food components can diffuse into the body in a healthy digestive tract. The breaks between meals should be at least 4-6 hours. There should be at least 13-14 hours between the last meal of the day and the first meal of the next day. This Ayurvedic recommendation, which is thousands of years old, is currently gaining worldwide popularity as the “interval diet”. A good eating rhythm could be, for example Breakfast 7:00, lunch 12:00, dinner 17:00. This rhythm can also be shifted one or two hours earlier or later. Please also note that the time interval between dinner and sleep should be approx. 3 hours without food intake. So-called “healthy snacks” such as fruit, vegetables or muesli bars should also be avoided between meals. Only drink water or tea between meals!

  5. Where do I eat?

The places where we spend time have a great influence on our well-being. From the Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, the traditional teaching of proper building, we know that it is ideal to use a part of the living area exclusively for eating. If we are used to eating in this place, the digestive system works best there. A meal should always be well prepared, the dining table beautifully set and everything appetizingly arranged. If you make this preparation the standard, you will be less tempted to snack between meals.

The dining area in every house and apartment should be quiet so that we are not distracted from eating by music, radio, television or newspapers. Of course, the dining area should also be smoke-free. A pleasant, quiet atmosphere at mealtimes allows us to eat mindfully and adjust the amount and type of food to our personal needs. In a calm, stress-free environment, it is also easier to chew well and eat slowly, allowing us to enjoy the full flavor of the food. If we stick to this, it is easy to experience the point of satiety and not overeat.

  6. How much do I eat?

The best quality food is meaningless if we constantly eat too much or too little. Stress and a hectic lifestyle, but also the irresistible influence of advertising and bad role models mean that the majority of people today have no natural sense of the right amount.

Problem 1: constant overeating. This leads to obesity and massively increases the risk factors for susceptibility to disease (morbidity) and premature death (mortality). The diseases of civilization such as obesity, adult-onset diabetes, high blood pressure, increased blood lipids and the cardiovascular diseases caused by them are the result of the majority of people eating more than their bodies can process. Everything that we cannot process is deposited in the body as “ama” (waste products) and is the breeding ground for the diseases of civilization described above. If we have lost our sense of the right amount, it is important to reduce excess weight and restore a natural feeling of hunger and satiety through repeated cleansing cures, such as our herbal detox, our webinars or Pancha Karma cures.

Problem 2: eating too little. This leads to underweight. Young girls and women in particular tend to eat too little. This sometimes leads to serious illnesses such as anorexia and bulimia. Part of these illnesses is an insufficient supply of vital substances to the body’s tissues. Even in these often desperate cases, Ayurvedic cleansing cures and correct eating habits are a last resort.

  7. What do I eat with?

This question refers to the combination of food with ingredients, spices, drinks, etc. As a general rule, every meal should contain all 6 flavors, be tasty and easily digestible. The use of spices plays an important role in this. Spices give the food a zing, make it more digestible and are the key to ensuring that all 6 flavors are present in the meal. Ayurvedic nutritional science is characterized by the intensive use of spices. Our Vata, Pitta and Kapha Churna spice blends, which can be used according to taste, time of day and season, are a great place to start. The Vata, Pitta and Kapha spice teas, which can be drunk during or between meals, also contain all 6 flavors. In this way, they support the digestive system and contribute to the most important effect of a meal: that we are not only satiated at the end of the meal, but above all satisfied.

It is important to intellectually engage with the Ayurvedic dietary recommendations in order to understand them. But all these rules should only form an understandable framework in which you develop the intuition to always eat the right food spontaneously.

Become a silent connoisseur of your food! Then you’ll spontaneously do everything right!
