Rasa - body tissue for good health part 2

Are you often tired? Not slept in in the morning? In a bad mood for no reason? The head feels dull?

Fatigue is a common symptom of lymphatic disorder, often associated with bad mood. This symptom is especially prevalent in the spring. In our last newsletter we reported that the lymph, in Ayurveda the first of 7 body tissues, is responsible for supplying the body with vital substances.

Stagnation of the lymph prevents a good supply of vital substances. Today we want to show you 10 Ayurvedic strategies to get the lymph flow going. By doing so, you will eliminate fatigue, bad mood, dull thinking and you will strengthen your immune system.

The 10 best ayurvedic treatments to cleanse and strengthen Rasa - the lymphatic system.

1. hot water

cup-1177644_1280This probably best known Ayurvedic application has it all: the boiled water is particularly thin and full of heat energy. This gets the digestive fire Agni going and allows clumped and thick lymph to flow freely again. This allows nutrients to return to their destination and waste products to be removed.

Here's how it's done: simmer water gently on the stove top for 5-10 minutes or turn on kettle several times. After the boiling time wait for the sediment to settle, pour the supernatant hot water into a thermos. Drink a few sips every half hour or so from morning until bedtime.

To remind the drinking time, you can set the timer on your cell phone.

Do a 7-day hot water drinking cure several times a year. Keep a slightly lighter diet with 3 meals per day.

2. herbal detox

This one-week treatment is taken from Ayurvedic texts. These recommend periodically strengthening the digestive fire Agni (Agni-deepana) and processing waste products (Ama-pachana). By taking some Ayurvedic herbal remedies, following simple dietary rules and a hot water drinking cure, one achieves these 2 goals.

Our herbal detox cure has been proven a thousand times and is very popular with our customers. In order to meet different demands, constitution and reaction types, this cure is available in three different variants as Vata, Pitta or Kapha package.

  • Herbal Detox Vata: for those with a tendency to bloating, constipation and cramping abdominal pain, as well as for those with stress and inner restlessness.
  • Herbal Detox Pitta: in case of tendency to soft stools and hyperacidity, in case of emotional strain
  • Herbal Detox Kapha: in case of tendency to heaviness in the abdomen and tiredness after meals, in case of listlessness and bad mood (Attention: hot spice decoction!)

To help you decide, you can do a dosha test here.

3. 3. ayurvedic self-massage

Massaging the body regularly is a recommendation given by the classical texts for everyone. Basically there are 2 different massage techniques: dry and oily.

Garshan - the dry massage

The dry massage is performed with silk or linen gloves and is called garshan. This massage is especially recommended for Kapha conditions such as obesity, diabetes, water retention and listlessness. Find the appropriate gloves and video instructions here. Written instructions for the Garshan massage can be found here.

Oil massage

Oil massage is performed with various herbal oils. The oils are selected according to skin type or ailments. Our Vata, Pitta and Kapha massage oils are particularly recommended.

Vata massage oil: for dry skin and inner restlessness.

Pitta massage oil: for sensitive skin, skin rashes, emotional stress.

Kapha massage oil: for oily, large-pored skin with a tendency to dandruff, for fatigue.

Written instructions for oil massage can be found here, and video instructions can be found here. .

4. yoga asanas sonnengruss

Movement is essential to stimulate lymph flow. The simplest form of exercise is walking and yoga asanas.

Walking briskly for at least 30 minutes a day is a basic Ayurvedic recommendation. Take this recommendation seriously!

a href="/news/yoga-im-maharishi-ayurveda" target="_blank">Yoga-asanasshould also be practiced at least once a day for about 10-15 minutes. This moves all joints and muscle groups once through. This gets the stagnant bodily fluids, the lymph, going.

For introduction to yoga asanas, we recommend you to attend yoga classes in our house.

5.  herbal mixture MADK2

The main medicinal plant of this Ayurvedic complex remedy is dyer's root (Rubia cordifolia). This plant is called Manjishta in the classical texts and is used to purify blood and lymph. This herbal remedy is especially effective when skin diseases such as eczema occur due to lack of lymph flow or exposure to Ama.

Application: 2x daily 2 herbal tablets MADK2 before meals.

6. herbal mixture MA697

When lymph flow is obstructed by swollen glands, this remedy is the recommendation from the classical texts. It contains myrrh and an extract from the orchid tree (kanchanara). By decongesting thickened lymph glands, these herbs clear the way for lymph to flow.

Application: 1-2 herbal tablets MA697 twice a day before meals.

7. herbal mixture MA1688

When the body fluids stagnate for a long time, inflammation and pain can occur. One function of the lymph is to remove waste products (ama). If this task is not fulfilled, toxic waste products remain in the tissues and irritate the immune system, which reacts with inflammation. This can result in so-called auto-immune diseases. These can affect the joints (rheumatism), the thyroid gland (Hashimoto) and many other organs and body structures.

Frankincense and myrrh are THE Ayurvedic medicinal plants that "tame" the immune system. The MA1688 herbal blend contains effective amounts of frankincense and myrrh and can be used for many chronic inflammatory diseases. As a result, the late effects of insufficient lymphatic flow are favorably influenced.

Application: 2x daily 1-2 herbal tablets MA1688 before or after meals.

8.  herbal mixture MA3

The lymph in the brain passes through the "glymphatic system". Through the vessels of the glymphatic system, it supplies the brain with vital substances and disposes of several grams of metabolic waste (amyloid) from the central nervous system every day. If the disposal does not take place sufficiently, the amyloid is deposited between the nerve cells and leads to massive degeneration symptoms in the brain - known as Alzheimer's dementia.

MA3 herbal mixture contains 4 medicinal herbs, which are called Medhya-Rasayanas in the classical texts. This ingenious combination nourishes the brain cells and stimulates the purifying lymphatic flow in the glymphatic system.

Application: 2 herbal tablets MA3 2x daily before or after meals.

9. Maharishi Amrit Kalash amrit-kalashL45KiUJuyZhrz

Amrit Kalash literally means "vessel of immortality". This name comes from its effect of nourishing all 7 body tissues equally, thereby maintaining youthfulness and health.

Lymph as the first body tissue is enriched by Amrit Kalash with valuable secondary plant substances. Through the lymph, all other body tissues are supplied with these vital substances. More information about Amrit Kalash can be found here.

Application: MA4 paste 2x daily 1 teaspoon early and evening, MA5 tablets 2x 1 tablet together with MA4.

10.  Vedic Sounds

In his groundbreaking work "The Human Body as an Expression of the Veda", Dr. Tony Nader describes the direct connection between Vedic sounds and the structures of our body.

Of the 4 original Vedic texts, "Sama Veda" represents the flow of soma in our bodies to convey alertness, energy, and vitality. Soma can be equated with Ojas, the essence of the 7 body tissues.

When listened to mindfully, the sounds of the Sama Veda mediate the flow of soma and ojas, and thereby also set the lymph in motion. Thus, nourishing lymph flows through the whole body, allowing well-being and health to spread.

Application: listen to the CD „Sama Veda“ daily for about 5 minutes with closed eyes before sleeping.

Summary

The first body tissue Rasa or lymph is crucial for nourishing all organs and the other body tissues. When we promote the flow of rasa in the lymphatic vessels, the vital substances absorbed by the digestive system are transported to all tissues. Good lymph flow is equally important for the removal of metabolic waste products from all areas of the body. Good lymph flow keeps the body young and fresh, and provides a good mood and sense of well-being.

Use as many of these 10 Ayurvedic measures as possible to keep Rasa/Lymph moving!
