Medicinal herbs have been used since time immemorial to maintain health and cure diseases. In the last hundred years, medicinal herbs have been pushed into the background by the use of industrially produced chemical medicines. Thus, every batch of every product marketed in the EU is tested by 2 independent laboratories for the content of herbicides and pesticides, heavy metals and infectious materials (fungal spores and bacteria).

Only batches of Maharishi Ayurveda products that are well below the permitted limits are offered for sale.

Black sheep in the European market

This is not a matter of course. In an analysis of Ayurvedic products sold by various suppliers in Europe, an unpublished internal investigation by an Ayurvedic trading company found significant deficiencies in 8 out of 10 of the products examined. For example, permitted limits for heavy metals and other toxic substances were exceeded, in some cases considerably.

In the case of Maharishi Ayurveda products that are on sale in Europe, tight controls of all batches by external laboratories rule out the possibility of limit values being exceeded.
