News from the world of Ayurveda in the Hausruckviertel - April 2022

Dear Reader,

Spring has come to us! Even if our freshly planted cherry, apple, pear or plum trees are still a little shy with their blossoms, the splendid awakening of the old trees in the immediate vicinity is unmistakable.

We at soma think that a little spring-cleaning in the meantime will do our grey cells no harm and have immediately prescribed a shirobasti for our Marion.

Shirobasti is an oil bath for the top of the head. Similar to the Shirodhara (oil forehead shower), it leads to deep relaxation. Traditionally, Shirobasti is used for restlessness, insomnia, stress and anxiety.

As you can see in the picture below, the treatment had a mood-lifting effect after only a few minutes, and not only for Marion...

Health through detoxification and purification is a recurring theme for us and it is impossible to imagine soma med without it. Ayurveda is highly modern despite its millennia-old tradition. Perhaps we can motivate you to take a Pancha Karma cure at soma med with the following scientifically proven facts:

  • Ayurveda is a medical science recognised by the WHO (World Health Organisation).
  • Your Ayurveda doctor follows individual therapy approaches in order to provide each patient with a treatment that is appropriate to his or her type.
  • Manual therapies from Ayurveda sometimes help patients with back or joint pain better than conventional treatments.
  • Oil forehead show positive effects on patients with anxiety
  • Ayurvedic medicine has a comparable effect on rheumatism to selected conventional medicines, but with fewer side effects (Source: https://www.geo.de/natur/nachhaltigkeit/588-rtkl-forschung-zu-ayurveda-was-kann-ayurveda-das-sagt-die-wissenschaft)

Claudia_Fenske_web.jpgResearchers worldwide are investigating the effectiveness of traditional Indian medicine. High-quality scientific studies provide new and interesting results every day. We will keep you up to date on this.

I will be happy to receive your questions, suggestions and impulses at claudia.fenske@somamed.at.

Yours sincerely
