Opening ceremony on 3 May 2022
Opening ceremony soma med in Geboltskirchen, Upper Austria
In the presence of Provincial Councillor Markus Achleitner, the Indian Ambassador in Vienna, Mr Jaideep Mazumdar, and many other guests of honour from all parts of the world, soma, the new centre for health in Geboltskirchen, was opened on 3 May.
soma, founded by the European Ayurveda pioneer Dr. Wolfgang Schachinger, is the first health facility in the world to combine classical Ayurveda medicine, thermal water treatments and modern medicine under one roof.
In a construction time of less than 18 months, a beautiful and functional building in Vedic architecture was created, which fits perfectly into the natural landscape of the Hausruckwald. In a uniquely quiet location, Dr. Wolfgang Schachinger, his daughter Dr. Valeria Schachinger and 35 employees treat people who want to improve their health and performance with natural methods.
Guests and patients can experience unique Ayurvedic therapies, modern orthodox medical examinations and effective treatments with the thermal water of the Dreikönigsquelle Haag am Hausruck, thus strengthening their health. Because "strengthening health" is the motto at soma - and not fighting diseases.
A restaurant with Ayurvedic dishes and a shop with natural products for good health round off the offer at soma.
Markus Achleitner, Provincial Councillor for Economic Affairs and Tourism, is enthusiastic about the opening of the soma health centre: "Health, regeneration, vitality, joie de vivre - that is exactly the medicine we need in times like these. This unique soma centre with its wide range of services - from the traditional Indian healing art of Ayurveda to healing water treatments from the local thermal spring as well as modern medicine - offers the ideal environment for this. I congratulate Dr. Wolfgang Schachinger and his team on their soma centre, with which they further enrich the tourist offer of this beautiful region."
The managing director of the tourism association Urlaubsregion Vitalwelt Bad Schallerbach Mag. (FH) Philipp Haas emphasises the value for the region: "We are pleased that in addition to the existing health facilities in the seven villages of the holiday region Vitalwelt, there is now a new health centre with a new content and medical focus."
An open day will be held on 7 May (11:00 - 16:00).
