Minerals - small traces can improve health

A sufficient supply of minerals is crucially important for health. Therefore, a consistently good diet with a high proportion of vegetables and whole foods, as well as some food supplements, is highly recommended.

Fast food diets with a lot of white flour that has had the mineral-rich outer layers removed, canned foods and highly processed convenience foods, on the other hand, are low in minerals and can even cause deficiency symptoms and physical disorders. Does the old saying "food and drink keep body and soul together" only apply if you mean the natural way of eating from the time before the mechanisation of agriculture? What are the possibilities today to supply oneself with minerals and trace elements that are so important for the metabolism and the building processes of our body?

To get maximum benefit from the minerals in vegetables, dairy products and cereals, you should eat organic and fresh food as much as possible. Organic farming does not use artificial fertilisers, does not deplete the soil and retains more minerals and trace elements. Whole grains such as quinoa, bulgur and millet contain more minerals than processed grains and white flour. Seeds and seeds as well as leafy vegetables are also a good source of minerals and vitamins. For an adequate supply of minerals, your diet should include many different kinds of fruits and vegetables, as well as grains, legumes and nuts. Drinking water containing calcium and magnesium also provides valuable minerals.

But it is not only the amount and type of minerals that is crucial for optimal supply. Whether the body can absorb the minerals depends strongly on the form in which the mineral is contained in the food and how the meal is composed. An example of this is iron from plant foods, the absorption of which can be improved by eating foods rich in vitamin C at the same time. Ayurvedic supplements, herbal and mineral blends pressed into tablet form, can also help you unlock the optimal nutritional value of the food: Ayur-Multi-Mineral, Calcio Care and Iron-Rasayana are excellent helpers for a comprehensive supply of minerals and trace elements.

Minerals - small but irreplaceable!

Minerals are components of our bones, teeth, muscles, nerves and blood. They support our mental and physical well-being and are important for metabolism and energy, muscle reactions and hormone production, among other things. For example, calcium has been shown to have effects in the following areas: Bone and teeth maintenance, normal muscle function and nerve cell signalling, normal blood clotting, normal energy metabolism and normal digestive enzyme function. The list of influences emanating from the iron mineral is also impressive. These are: normal function of red blood cells and haemoglobin, normal oxygen transport, normal energy metabolism, normal function of the immune system, normal cognitive performance, normal cell division and normal cognitive development in children. However, when the body lacks minerals and trace elements, a whole range of symptoms can occur. Calcium deficiency, for example, can lead to bone softening and osteoporosis, while iron deficiency is associated with anaemia, the common anaemia. To prevent these mineral deficiencies and resulting health problems, the body needs to maintain the right mineral balance.

Minerals and herbs - two strong partners

The Vaidyas, the Ayurvedic doctors of India, have had a very profound knowledge of minerals and their biological functions since time immemorial. They know in detail the interrelationships and effects of iron, calcium, zinc and copper and also know how to counteract their deficiency. In Ayurveda, minerals have been used for thousands of years, because the science of mineralogy was highly developed in India early on.

According to Maharishi Ayurveda, a healthy, balanced diet should be quite sufficient to supply the body with all the minerals and trace elements it needs. However, if the digestion is weak and the absorption of the active substances is insufficient, many minerals cannot reach where they are needed. Therefore, food supplements only make sense if the minerals they contain can also be absorbed and transformed by the digestive system. Ayurveda therefore combines minerals with herbs which, according to ancient knowledge, are known to support the assimilation and transport of the individual ingredients in the body. The knowledge of the correct composition of food supplements from herbal and mineral mixtures is a great achievement that distinguishes Ayurveda from almost all medical systems.

Some special Ayurvedic food supplements made from herbal and mineral preparations are the so-called bhasmas. For their preparation, the minerals are processed with traditional Ayurvedic methods and tools in many steps together with herbal preparations. To achieve the quality described in the traditions, this can take months, sometimes even years. Good to know: These original Ayurvedic products from Maharishi Ayurveda are tested by European laboratories according to the most modern standards and contain no heavy metals.

The combination of natural minerals with herbs is intended to ensure that the minerals are well utilised. This is because a special "transport system" is needed for each mineral. Copper, for example, is slightly dissolved in water. Ayurveda therefore recommends drinking 100 to 200 millilitres of water that has been kept overnight in a copper cup. Ayurvedic iron rasayana contains iron bhasma, which is particularly easy for the body to absorb. In Maharishi Ayurveda, Indian gooseberry (Amla) is added for better absorption of the iron, and Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia), according to Ayurvedic knowledge, supports the metabolism and the liver as well as its iron absorption.

Searching for "traces" in our food

If we often use canned and highly processed foods, we do not get enough minerals and nutrients from our food. Fresh, preferably organically grown food offers the greatest treasure trove of minerals. Naturally rich in iron are green leafy vegetables, carrots, dates, whole grains, pumpkin seeds, lentils and pomegranates. For a good supply of calcium, you should include enough green vegetables, sesame seeds, walnuts, fresh coconut, milk, curd and panir in your diet.

Iron, calcium & Co in the old Ayurvedic recipes

In addition, you can take original Ayurvedic supplements to support the absorption of calcium or iron or the mineral combination Ayur-Multi-Mineral. This way you can get the maximum benefit from the minerals in your diet. A healthy diet supplemented with these natural formulas provides minerals that the body needs. The calcium source in the Calcio Care supplement is very high quality pearl bhasma. The grain size is small, so it is easy to absorb. According to Ayurvedic knowledge, the herbal ingredients help to absorb the calcium well. Ayur-Multi-Mineral is a combination of calcium, iron, zinc, mica and other minerals. In this formula too, herbal partners are provided to the minerals to ensure maximum absorption. Ayurveda describes seven types of body tissue: plasma, blood, muscle, fat, bone, bone marrow, reproductive tissue. If these are consistently well nourished, this is the best condition to feel energetic and vital.
