Seasonal change and cleansing cures

Seasonal changes and Ayurvedic measures are inextricably linked. Ayurveda recommends cleansing and regenerating the body with every transition into a new season. The old burdens of the past months should be removed before something new begins.

Using the rhythms of nature

In Maharishi Ayurveda there are millennia-old recommendations on how to use the rhythms of nature to support health, vitality and success.

Every human being is part of nature and is constantly subject to cycles set by external nature.

The most important are:

  • Life cycles
  • Seasons
  • Moon phases
  • Times of day

Within our own body, breathing and heartbeat are the most important clocks.

Change with the seasons

With the seasons, the qualities of the doshas change, creating fundamental influences on our mind-body system. We notice very little of this as long as we are in balance. If the balance of the doshas is missing, typical complaints easily arise, which are different in each season.

  • Kapha time: spring tiredness or weakened immune system (allergies and infections).
  • Pitta time: Disturbances in the digestive system (summer diarrhoea), skin problems (sunburn, eczema) or cardiovascular weakness.
  • Vata time: joint problems, back pain or psychological changes due to darkness, such as winter depression.

The sequence of the three doshas kapha, pitta and vata within the cycles is always the same. This applies to seasons and times of day as well as to life cycles.

The perfect preparation for the seasons

This is what the classical Ayurvedic texts say:

"Pancha karma/purification therapy should always be done at the change of seasons".

Asthanga Hridaya, Sutrasthana 3, 58

The classical texts recommend a purification treatment at every change of season.  This relieves the body and you can start a new season purified. Mind and body are fitter, more vital and more alive. The body's self-healing powers are activated.

Cleansing cures remove ama (waste products) from the body channels and thus optimise communication in the body, which functions via hormones, messenger substances and nerve impulses.

"The doshas always multiply, even if moderating treatments are carried out. However, the doshas (and associated ailments) that have been eliminated through purging therapy do not come back.

The doshas can be compared to trees. Only when you uproot a tree does it stop growing. The doshas (in imbalance) cause diseases as long as they are not eliminated at the root through purging therapies."

Charaka Samhita, Sutrasthana 16, 17-21

Which cleansing regimen is ideal for me?

Everyone should purge two to three times a year. There should be no excuse when it comes to budget and time.

These are the options:

  1. Pancha Karma Cure The royal road to health is a stationary cleansing cure in soma. Through the individual treatment steps of this cure, toxins and harmful substances stored in the body (such as: heavy metals or acids) are systematically removed.
Each Pancha Karma cure is tailor-made for you by Dr. Schachinger and his competent team according to your constitutional type as well as your clinical picture and is therefore your personal one-of-a-kind.
  1. Webinar As a speciality of our house, we offer three cleansing cures as webinars, each adapted to the season. The treatment, led by Dr. Wolfgang and Dr.in Valeria Schachinger, is carried out at home. If you attend all three webinars, you will be optimally prepared for the coming season. You can prepare for the next seasonal transition from the warm to the cold season with the webinar Winterfit
  1. Cleansing cure for the home In order to enable everyone to cleanse themselves without a large investment of time and money, we offer detox cures that can be easily implemented in everyday life. Our herbal detox cure is particularly suitable for use alone at home.

After each cleanse, whether Pancha Karma or Herbal Detox from home, old burdens are removed and the mind-body system is fully regenerated. Thus the adaptation to warmth, cold, wind, rain and snow, to sun and darkness, to seasonally increased professional demands can succeed effortlessly. This brings success in life and protects against illness and premature ageing.

Summary

Every person should carry out a cleansing cure two to three times a year. Seasonal transitions are particularly suitable for this. At soma we offer the right package for every budget, every constitution and every season.

We look forward to your feedback!
